John Lee Hooker --- alias "Hook" --- was the blues' foremost proponent of "the boogie." Another prolific artist, you've probably at one time or another heard his deep, rich voice growl "haw, haw, haw, haw!" In Hook's heyday in Detroit in the late 40's and early 50's, he recorded under dozens of names, sometimes several in the same day. Sadly, he passed away June 21, 2001. But it can be said that he boogied 'til the end!
