Forumcaster 001
" darkshadow54321", a member of the Seymour Duncan User Group Forums from Lisbon, Portugal, made a simple post:
"As a cool Christmas present for Seymour, and as an excellent time capsule, we should create a forum guitar!"
------------------------------------------------------------------
"Members wishing to participate send a small fixed amount of cash to a paypal
account (to be determined). It'll probably be something like 5 dollars. With
that money, an Agile tele will be bought, later to be routed to 2 humbuckers
and spiced up, SD style."

Later in the day, Gregg Stewart from Warmoth posted on the forum:
"Hi Guys,
Sounds like a good project.
Count Warmoth in for a raw Swamp Ash Tele body and maple neck. Might suggest
a hollow Tele for a highend custom project. Let me know what you want and
we'll get her done.
Thanks,

This was a little more than a day after the original post. We had already
set up accounts in the US and Europe, and had more than 30 commitments for
contributions from people in the States, in the UK and the rest of Europe,
Canada, and Australia. We organized, and assigned various responsibilities.
We made separate posts to vote on the specs for the guitar, and we asked
for help from Evan Skopp, Seymour's vice president and rhythm guitar player
when he gigs. While we were voting, Evan logged in, and asked us a simple
question:
"Do we want Seymour to actually want to play this thing often?
Or do we just want to make what we want, give it to him and have him put it on
a wall?"
While some were answering that question, Scott_F, one of the admins, logged in
with Seymour's specs, provided by Evan. Here they are:
------------------------------------------------------------------
" Seymour's Specs
1. 250k CTS Pots
2. Kluson Deluxe Tuners
3. 2 single coils, bridge tapped, 5-way switch
4. 3 Barrel saddles, the big old brass ones, not the current small brass ones.
5. thin nitro finish on both the body and the neck
6. steel bridge, string thru
7. vintage blonde (nocaster-like) color, not butterscotch
8. small vintage rounded frets
9. neck profile similar to a 62 strat (his favorite neck)
10. black pickguard
11. strings are 9's
12. whatever radius is on a 62 strat as well.
13. bone nut
It's all about vintage fellas."
