this project started out with a lightweight alder strat body
the neck is rosewood over maple ... I taped off the fretboard and put on a few coats of "Tru-Oil"
after adding finish, the neck displayed a light, but beautiful flame
I used an aluminum pickguard for a template to locate the screw holes
here the screw holes have been drilled...
I used a pickguard assembly I had already wired. The pickups are vintage style single coils wound by MJ in the Custom Shop....
After adding tuning machines to the neck, and mounting the pickguard, here's the guitar:
It actually required very litte setup - just adjustment of the trem bridge height
here it's happily residing next to a tweed Deluxe and Blues Junior
